He has produced the movies Edward II, My Night with Reg, The Designated Mourner, Mrs. Dalloway, and The Tribe. Curtis has directed episodes of the TV series Performance, Tracey Takes On…, Freezing, and Cranford. He has also directed the movies My Week with Marilyn and Woman in Gold. He won a Banff Television Award for Best Mini-Series in 2008 for Cranford and has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and six BAFTA Awards. Simon is married to actress Elizabeth McGovern.
