In 1991, Sitorus cofounded the Singapore-listed company together with Kuok Khoon Hong, the nephew of Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok. Ever since the duo has been working on Wilmar’s expansion, making it a company with over 300 manufacturing plants and an extensive distribution network spreading across China, India, Indonesia, the United States and some 50 other countries. In addition to the multinational Wilmar, Sitorus and Kuok Khoon Hong are owners of the London skyscraper Aviva Tower.
