The album turned out to be a success as it went platinum and spawned two hits: Tonite and Born and Raised in Compton. Throughout the 90’s, he went on to release three more albums: Way 2 Fonky (1992), Safe & Sound (1995), Rhythm-al-ism (1998) – that were also note-worthy, each going gold, yet none being as popular as his debut. Meanwhile, DJ Quik has written, produced, and remixed music for many artists and continued to work on his subsequent albums. But neither of his future releases (Balance and Options (2000), Under tha Influence (2002), Trauma (2005) and The Book of David (2011)) succeeded to resurrect his commercial standing.
