He was also a keyboard player for the cover band Spike and the Impalers. His 1988 album Twisted Christmas reached #19 on the US Holiday chart and his 1993 album I Am Santa Claus reached #1 on the US Heatseekers chart. Bob Rivers appeared in episodes of the TV series Star Trek: Enterprise. He produced a documentary short titled Senegal, Africa: Through My Eyes which was directed by his son Keith Rivers.
