Having broken off from the family business, Asok Kumar Hiranandani placed his assets in his privately owned Royal Group Holdings which has built a new corporate headquarters and a 135- room Sofitel So Hotel designed by Karl Lagerfeld. As of recent, he reportedly purchased the 144-room Stamford Double Bay Hotel in Sydney for $58 million and also has plans to expand it into Indonesia. The latest projects are supervised by his son Bobby, who most probably will be his successor.
