Their 1993 album Midnight Marauders reached #1 on the US R&B chart. Their album Beats, Rhymes and Life was released in 1996 and reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and US R&B charts. The group has had many successful singles including “Check the Rhime” which reached #1 on the US Rap chart. Lucy Pearl released their self-titled debut studio album in 2000 featuring the single “Dance Tonight” which reached #5 on the US R&B chart. Muhammad is a co-host on the NPR show Microphone Check and also co-produced the soundtrack to the ABC television series Luke Cage in 2016.
